Madras Motor Race Track

Academic I B.Arch I 2020

To establish a Formula 1 and MotoGP-compliant FIA Grade 1 race circuit in southern India, the existing Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) will be redeveloped with enhanced support infrastructure to host international events and promote motorsports in India. The current site, covering 380 acres, will be expanded to 660 acres by acquiring nearby farmland and government-owned land.

The infrastructure upgrades will include constructing a world-class pit building, a grand stadium, parking facilities for 9,000 cars, and a completely new layout for on-site vehicle circulation. The road hierarchy is derived from the case study of the Buddh International Circuit in Delhi.

Site Area: 660 acres

Location: Chennai, India.
